MEADOWBANK | Auckland
A bolthole in the city to visit family and friends, which in this case is by no means a utilitarian space!
The brief was to make this very petite apartment feel playful and quirky, but most of all comfortable. We came up with the concept of turning the space into something like you might expect from a high end hotel suite. Elements of bold colour are balanced with more natural and tonal surfaces so not to overwhelm the small footprint. Furniture was selected to allow for relaxed lounging and socialising, but not so bulky that it clutters the space. Bespoke joinery was designed and fabricated for a small nook that has become a highlight of the living area. The joinery adds the function of space to work, and more importantly a dry bar for some added luxury.
